A celebration of Brazilian literature & culture in MTL

Printemps Littéraire Brésilien was a two day event held at McGill University on April 18 & 19, 2019 during which world-renowned Brazilian authors - (pictured) Adriana Lisboa, Alexandre Vidal Porto, and Prof. Leonardo Tonus of La Sorbonne -  held readings and discussed their creative works with attendees. Along with the authors, broader discussions on Brazil, Lusofonia, and Portuguese were a vital part of this event which was a unique opportunity to discuss Luso-topics with Montreal-based colleagues and attendees. Discussions were held in French, English and Portuguese.

I co-organized this event with Prof. Cecily Raynor with much support from Rhian Lewis, and we were so thrilled to host these authors and welcome this multinational tour for the first time ever in Canada. During the planning and the conference, we built and solidified great relationships with Brazilian cultural institutions in Montreal including the Consulado Geral Bresilien de Montreal as well as Aquarela Magazine Publications.
